iYAK Ten Years

In 2014, Doje Cairang left his job in Chengdu and founded iYak, a yak wool social enterprise near Qinghai Lake. Starting with only 40,000 RMB, iYak flourished, buying 150 tons of yak wool and improving the livelihoods of 9,000 people over the next decade. A memorable encounter was with a woman who traveled far to sell a small amount of wool, symbolizing trust in iYak. The documentary captures Doje’s emotional search and reunion with her, reflecting iYak’s ten-year journey.

Social Entrepreneurs on the Plateau
Social Entrepreneurs on the Plateau (SEP) began in 2017, promoting social innovation in high-altitude regions by connecting urban and rural youth for meaningful exchanges. It has grown into a platform offering tailored online and offline courses, workshops, study tours, and documentaries featuring local youth entrepreneurs.
The SEP Documentary series has directly impacted 10 plateau-based social entrepreneurs and their organizations, gaining widespread attention with over 2 million views across platforms. The films inspire young people in high-altitude areas by showcasing relatable role models, fostering personal reflection, and sparking action towards social entrepreneurship and sustainable community development.
