Blossoming over lips

Documentary

Seventeen years ago, SaNaT, a girl from Altay Prefecture in Xinjiang, left her prairie home for the first time to pursue a dream. As a cleft lip and palate patient, she was fortunate to receive treatment, but many children in remote areas of China still lack access to proper care. Now, as a volunteer, she helps other children regain their smiles. This public welfare story highlights her journey and calls for greater societal care and respect for cleft lip and palate patients, emphasizing the importance of sustainable support.

Over the past 17 years, the creative team, initiated by Director Liu Shaocong, has used images to continuously focus on SaNaT’s growth and the living situation of kids with cleft lips and palates.
