The growing influence of the Inspiring Asia Micro Film Festival was reflected on the global stage this year, as two of the festival’s closest supporters — Laurence Lien and Xin Liu — were named to the prestigious TIME100 Philanthropy 2026 list. Their recognition not only celebrates their remarkable contributions to the social sector, but also underscores the powerful community of philanthropists, changemakers, and partners rallying behind Inspiring Asia’s mission across the region.
Recognised for championing a radical and collaborative approach to giving, Laurence Lien has long been a leading voice in reimagining philanthropy in Asia. As co-founder of Asia Philanthropy Circle (APC), Laurence has played a pivotal role in Inspiring Asia’s journey from the very beginning. APC has served as the platform partner of Inspiring Asia since its inception, accompanying the festival through its rapid regional growth and helping to build bridges between philanthropy, storytelling, and social innovation.
Laurence’s support has also been deeply personal and hands-on. At Inspiring Asia 2025, he took the stage to present the Best Micro Film Award — a fitting moment that reflected his longstanding belief in the power of stories to challenge perspectives, spark empathy, and inspire action.
Also featured on the TIME100 Philanthropy 2026 list was Xin Liu, co-founder of Enlight Foundation, for her work empowering youth-led climate action and advancing youth mental health through the Foundation’s $20 million Emerging Climate Champions Award and the $100 million ICONIQ Impact Youth Mental Wellbeing Co-Lab. Enlight Foundation has been an Anchor Partner of Inspiring Asia, providing long-term strategic support and standing alongside the festival as it expanded its reach and impact across Asia.
Xin has likewise been an active contributor to the Inspiring Asia platform. During Inspiring Asia 2025, she presented the Best Project Award and joined a thought-provoking panel discussion titled “Can Singapore Learn from Global Initiatives to Improve our Youth Mental Health System?” Her participation brought valuable international perspectives to one of the defining challenges facing young people today, while reinforcing the festival’s commitment to creating space for meaningful dialogue and cross-border learning.
