The Spring Never Returns
I hope this film reminds us to care about the right of orphans and children with AIDS to receive an education.
- Director’s Message
Zeng Shaoliang was born with AIDS and has faced abandonment and loss from an early age. His mother disappeared, his father passed away from the same illness, and he was raised by his grandmother until her death last year. Now living alone in a government-built house, he survives with the help of his uncle, who brings him food each day. Despite his young age, Zeng is isolated—not only by circumstance but also by stigma, as local schools refuse to accept him. His story reveals the profound loneliness and discrimination faced by children living with HIV, and the quiet resilience that keeps hope alive.
